Obituary for Dorothy Alice Hale

Dorothy A. Hale, 85, of Keokuk, IA died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, following a short illness. Memorial Services will be held in the Spring. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Benjamin of Keokuk, IA; four grandchildren, Gary Cross, Candy (Paul) Johnson, Chris (Steve) Austin all of Keokuk, IA, Cindy (Paul) Shoup of Green Forest, AR; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carl Shumaker, and a sister, Delorus Watson. Dorothy Alice Hale was born March 2, 1922 in Salem, IA the daughter of Carl and Mary (Skipton) Shumaker. She worked for Sheaffer Pen Company as an inspector for 37 years. Dorothy loved to travel and bowl. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
