Keith S. Noah, 87, of Charles City, Iowa, died Friday, August 31, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center, Mason City, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 601 Milwaukee St., Charles City. There will be a visitation at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6. Keith Stanley Noah was born in rural Charles City July 18, 1920, the son of Stanley Alan Noah and Nora Belle Tucker Noah. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1938, and from the University of Iowa with a Bachelors Degree in 1942 and a Juris Doctorate in 1948. Keith married Helen J. Zastrow on September 22, 1943. He served as a U. S. Army Air Corps cryptographer in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946. Keith practiced law in Charles City from 1948 until shortly before his death. He was a past member of the Iowa Bar Association Board of Governors and served many years as a director of First Security Bank & Trust Company and Cedar Valley Bankshares, Ltd. He was active in many community activities including Boy Scouts, Arts Council, Floyd County Republican Party and Trinity United Methodist Church. Keith was president of the Charles City Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Lions Club, Family YMCA and YMCA Foundation. In 1969 Iowa Governor Robert D. Ray appointed him the first Chairman of the Higher Education Facilities Commission administering the Iowa Tuition Grant Program to benefit students attending Iowa’s private colleges and universities. In 1976 Keith began 16 years of service on the Wartburg College Board of Regents. Keith is survived by his wife, Helen, and his children Ronald K. (Toni) Noah, Charles City, Steven C. (Jane) Noah, West Des Moines, Rick (Cindy) Noah, Charles City, and Nancy (Dirk) Tyler, Evergreen, CO; grandchildren Craig (Marianne Raub) Noah, Krista Noah, Mariah (Aaron) Collmann, Noelle Noah, Erica Noah, Kelsey Noah, Brittany Tyler, and Tucker Tyler as well as great-grandchildren Delaney Smith, Dillon Smith and Eveline Noah. Memorials may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church, Charles City, Iowa or the Charles City Family YMCA, Charles City, Iowa.
