Shirley Ann Kelly, 70, of Waterloo, Iowa died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. Per her wishes, Shirley was cremated. There is no service planned. Shirley is survived by her sister Dorothy (Mark) Kruse of Newport Beach, CA; four nephews Craig (Connie) Patava of Waterloo, Robert (Renee) Patava Jr. of Vinton, Brent Kruse of Medesto, CA, and Paul (Holley) Patava of Belle Plaine; four nieces Denise (John) Baker of Cedar Rapids, Susan Kruse of Anchorage, AK, Lorri (John) Swarney of Bettendorf, and Debra (Mark) Fink of Cedar Rapids and ten great nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Agnes Patava; and two brothers Robert and Joseph Patava. Shirley Ann Patava was born December 3, 1935 to Joseph and Agnes (Chizek) Patava in Vinton, Iowa. She graduated for Vinton High School in 1954. She was employed with Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Waterloo for 24 years before her retirement on January 31, 2005. Previous to her employment with Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center Shirley work for Allis Chalmers Mtg, Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, International Paper Company in Springhill, Louisiana, the Colorado College, the Yuma Test Station, and for KMOT-TV in Minot, North Dakota. Shirleys enjoyed reading, duplicate bridge, crocheting, and traveling. She was a member of the Waterloo First United Methodist Church and ACBL Unit 163.
