LaVern H. Prusha

LaVerne H. Prusha, 76, of Tama, Iowa died on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at his home after his battle with cancer. LaVerne is survived by his wife Frances Prusha of Tama; three sons Jody Prusha of Tama, Jamie Prusha of Cedar Rapids, and Patrick (Linda) Prusha of Nevada, IA; one daughter Lynne (Kurt) Wallace of Bedford, IA; one brother William Prusha of Mesa, AZ; two sisters Lorraine Wilkerson of Tama, and Elaine Lundergan of Colorado; plus six grandchildren. LaVerne was preceded in death by his parents William and Annabell Prusha and one brother Ricky Prusha. LaVerne Harold Prusha was born May 6, 1930 to William and Annabell (Quigley) Prusha in Toledo, Iowa. He married Frances Lewis on July 20, 1957 in Buffalo, Iowa at the Methodist Church. LaVerne graduated from Toledo High School. He was employed 15 years with Manatts in Brooklyn, Iowa followed by 11 years with the City of Tama working on the street department retiring in 1993. LaVerne was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Tama Methodist Church. He enjoyed reading and loved fishing. Memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice in LaVerne’s name.
