Marjorie Joan Hanna, 74, of 2704 Logan Avenue, Mt. Pleasant, IA, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 22, 2006. According to her wishes, her body has been cremated. A private family graveside service will be held at Long Creek Cemetery, southeast of Danville, IA with the Rev. Edward Peterson officiating. A gathering of family and friends, in honor of Marjorie, will be held on Thursday January 26th from 5-8 p.m. at The Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, IA. Marjorie was born on October 15th, 1931 near Crawfordsville, IA, the daughter of Marshall and Anna (Meier) Martin. She was a graduate of the Consolidated High School in Winfield, IA. She married Robert W. Hanna on April 26th, 1952 in Ft. Madison, IA. Marjorie had various jobs over the years and worked on the family farm. She was of the Methodist faith. Marjorie enjoyed fishing, all wildlife, and her greatest joy of all was spending time with her family. Marjorie is survived by her two sons Robert Hanna of St. Charles , MO and Michael Hanna of Maplewood, MN, two daughters Sheila McKenzie and Karen Noble, both of Mt. Pleasant, IA, 10 grandchilren; Shane, Travis and Kellie McKenzie and Krystle, Laura and Kyle Noble all of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Jayme and Brett Hanna of St. Charles, MO and Sarah and James Hanna of Maplewood, MN. Also surviving are two great-grandsons Michael and Matthew McKenzie of Mt. Pleasant, IA. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents Marshall and Anna Martin, three brothers; Leonard, Carl and Max Martin and two sisters; Eva Charbonneau and Ethel Stephens. A memorial has been established with the Oakland Mills Park and may be forwarded to Marjorie’s home at 2704 Logan Avenue, Mt. Pleasant, IA 52641. Arrangements are being handled by The Cremation Society of Eastern-Western-Central Iowa.
