Frances B. Kraus, of Traer, Iowa, died Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer, Iowa. A private family service will be held. Survivors include four sons; Michael of Waterloo, Iowa, David (Karin) of Hudson, Iowa, Gery (Sharyn) of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Alan (Peggy) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two grandchildren; Stephanie (David) Adams, and Michelle (Josh) Kraus; great-grandchild, DJ Adams. Also surviving are one brother; Clement (Jean) Bauer of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister; Marcella Pierce of Omaha, Nebraska; sister in law, Vivian Bauer of Waterloo, Iowa; and sister in law, Loraine Bauer of Storm Lake, Iowa. Preceding Frances in death were her husband Richard in 1968; five brothers; Gerald, Jim, Herbert (Maxine), Louis and an infant brother, Robert; two sisters, Margaret (Howard) Henrich and Lucille (John) Sampers; one brother in law, Quentin Pierce; and an infant daughter, Mary Catherine. Frances B. Kraus was born March 8, 1925 in Arthur, Iowa to Jacob and Frances Miller Bauer. She married Richard Kraus on June 26, 1947, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Odebolt, Iowa. Prior to living in Traer, Frances also lived in Odebolt, Waterloo, and Cedar Falls. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa, since 1966. Frances enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, and collecting owls. Memorials may be directed to the family at 14145 Holmes Rd Hudson, Iowa 50643.
