Bruce Allen Olson Bruce Olson, 55 of Maquoketa died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at his home after a battle with cancer. On Thursday August 10th visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed at 11:00 a.m. by a memorial service at First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. Mr. Olson was born December 26, 1950 to Bennie and Ellen (Jarland) Olson in Spring Grove, MN. He was a 1968 graduate of Spring Grove High School and a 1972 graduate of Lea College, Albert Lea, MN. He married Kelly Fagan on April 27, 2002 at First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa, IA. Mr. Olson worked for Wendy’s Restaurants as a District Manager for six years after which he served for ten years as Director of Operations for Rally’s Restaurants. Most recently he was an Assistant Manager for seven years with Wal-Mart. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spring Grove, MN. He was an avid fan and student of all sports, loved reading, playing cards, taking long walks and volunteered his services as a baseball coach. Survivors include his wife; two step-children, Adam (and Bri Bassler) Fagan of Maquoketa, Amanda Fagan of Maquoketa; his mother, Ellen Olson of Praire Du Chien, WI; his brothers Wayne (Carol) Olson of Glenville, MN and Gary (Mary Don) Olson of Praire Du Chien, WI; four brothers-in-law, Kevin(Kris) Keuter of Dubuque, Kendall (Marybeth) Keuter of Anamosa, Kraig Keuter of Birmingham, AL, Saul (and Sheena Smith) Streveler of Maquoketa; three sisters-in-law, Kim (John) McKenna of Marion, Keri (Craig) Dejager of Rapid City, SD, Kassie Streveler of Macomb, IL; parents-in-law Thomas and Nancy Streveler of Clinton; nieces and nephews, Mike Olson of Glenville, MN, Greg (April) Olson of Albert Lea, MN, Amy (Bob) Sullivan of Holmen, WI, Eric Olson of Praire Du Chien, WI, Audre (Chad) Hein of Blooming Praire, MN.
