Maxine L. Christensen

Maxine L. Christensen, 84, of Cedar Falls, Iowa died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. A memorial service will be held on October 13, 2005 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Following immediately will be a luncheon at the church. Additional services will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the Faith Presbyterian Church in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Survivors include her son Paul (Nancy) Christensen of Cedar Falls, IA; three daughters Dana Christensen of Mesa, AZ, Meri Krisan (Stephen) Panther of Waterloo, IA, and Jamie (Chris) Miller of Horseshoe Bend, AR; one sister Evagene Neimann of Memphis, TN; and ten grandchildren. Her husband, parents, one brother, and one sister preceded her in death. Maxine Luella Cowles was born September 30, 1921 to Perry and Luella Mae Cowles in Waterloo, Iowa. She married Paul G. Christensen on September 4, 1949 in Waterloo, Iowa. Paul passed away in 1984. Maxine graduated from West High School in Waterloo, Iowa and from State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Maxine and Paul founded, and operated the Paul G. Christensen Construction Company. Maxine also worked part time for the Horseshoe Bend Library as a librarian. She was a member and an elder of the Faith Presbyterian Church in Horseshoe Bend, AR. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in Maxine’s name. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern – Central – Western Iowa.
