LeRoy B. Decker, 76, 3109 Avenue I, Ft. Madison died Monday, October 17, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics following treatment for Hypertension and Parkinson’s Disease. Memorial Services: 3:00 P.M. Thursday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 401 Maple Street in Donnelson. Inurnment: Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery in Ft. Madison. The Rev. Judy Holcomb and The Rev. Jesse Brooks will officiate. Surviving in addition to his wife Betty are a son, Michael Godfrey of Norfolk, VA; three daughters, Carolyn Lindquist (Dan) of Chesapeake, VA, Melissa Decker-Rollings (Dee) of Elizabeth City, NC, and Becky Nicholson-Perkins (Brian) of Farmington, MN; two granddaughters, Rachel Decker and Bariana Perkins; and a brother, Lester Decker of Elvaston, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Myron Decker. LeRoy was born February 13, 1929 in Ft. Madison the son of Henry and Rose (Bendlage) Decker. He married Betty Swan Nicholson on July 24, 1975 in Carthage, Il. LeRoy was a Building Contractor and Maintenance Analyst prior to his retirement. LeRoy served in the U.S. Navy during WW II for 21 years. He was a member of the American Legion in West Point. LeRoy was an avid fisherman, a Washington Redskins fan and a Chicago Cubs fan. A devoted family man, LeRoy will be missed. A memorial fund has been established. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa.
