Roger C. White, 77, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 25, 2005 at the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Lucy White of Columbus Junction, IA; one son David (Linda) White of West Liberty, IA, one daughter Jill (Brian) Masonholder of Columbus Junction, IA; four grandchildren Cristin (Tony) Wellington of Conesville, IA, Andy (Abby) White of Conesville, IA, Ben Kaalberg of Columbus Junction, IA, and Travis White of West Liberty, IA; and one great granddaughter Libby White of Conesville, IA. Roger’s parents James and Kathryn White and one brother James White preceded him in death. Roger C. White was born August 18, 1928 to James and Kathryn (Blitch) White in Chicago, Illinois. He married Lucy Kurt on January 28, 1953 at St. Mary’s Church in Cascade, IA. Roger was employed with 3 Minute Oats of Cedar Rapids for 12 years, with the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce for 8 years, and with Roadway Express of Rock Island, Illinois for 20 years until his retirement in 1990. Roger was a member of the St. Josephs Catholic Church of Columbus Junction, the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Knights of Columbus, and the Columbus Junction, Iowa American Legion. Roger’s hobbies included collecting stamps and baseball cards. He loved spending time with his famliy, especially his grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Roger’s name. The White family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Manor of Columbus Junction for the wonderful care given to Roger over the past four years.
