Nancy L. Prevett, 43, of Hillsboro, Iowa, died Friday, November 18, 2005 in her home after a battle with cancer. Family and friends are invited to a potluck in Nancy’s honor on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at 11:00 AM, at the Hillsboro Community Center, in Hillsboro, Iowa. Survivors include her husband, Gregory Ross Prevett of Hillsboro, IA; her mother Carole Heitmeier of Hillsboro, IA; one son Gregory James Prevett of Ottumwa, IA; four daughters Ivy (Scott) Morris of Hillsboro, IA, Jacque (Jacob) Fett of Hillsboro, IA, Samantha Prevett of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Heather Prevett of Ottumwa, IA; one brother Sydney Millard of New London, IA; and five grandchildren. Her father John Mahlon Millard, one sister Teresa Millard, one brother John Mahlon Millard, Jr., and her grandparents preceded her in death. Nancy Lynne Millard was born January 18, 1962 to Mahlon and Carole (Shull) Millard in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She married Gregory Ross Prevett on August 19, 1989 in Oakland Mills, Iowa. Nancy attended Mt. Pleasant schools. Nancy was employed with Wal-Mart in Mt. Pleasant. She also owned and operated the Small Town Video Store in Hillsboro. Nancy was a member of the Hillsboro City Council and was active in the fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society. Nancy enjoyed puzzles, playing games on the Internet, crocheting, and crocheting hats for cancer patients in the Cedar Rapids and Mt. Pleasant hospitals. Memorials may be directed to the Prevett family.
