Obituary for William Hy Herron

William Hy Herron, 80, of 1514 Patton Ave. in Waterloo died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005 after a short illness. Private family services will be held at a later date. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Cora Mae, twin sons, Pat and Mike, three daughters, Deborah Reiter, Nancy Rice and Sandy Herron and a sister, Becky Smith all of Waterloo. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Gloria Herron. William was born on April 26, 1925 in Waterloo the son of Fred and Marie Hiskey Herron. He was a maintenance supervisor at Rath Packing and retired from there after nearly 45 years of service. He proudly served in the United Stated Navy for over 10 years which included service in WWII. Memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association in William''s name.
