Dear Nelle and family, Please accept my sympathy upon Calvin's death. My Wellman Advance just came today, so I am sorry I did not know of his passing sooner. May he rest in the peace of Christ. Our family had all of our cars and trucks serviced by Buckwalter Motors. From my first car as a teenager to the last one I bouught in Wellman, Calvin was the man I trusted to keep it rode-worthy. I had many visits with Calvin over the years. He even treated my to a pop when the mechanics went on coffee break. My mechanical skills were limited, but what I learned about cars, I learned from Calvin and the guys in the garage. For that I am so thankful that he took the time to explain repairs or maintenance needs. One fall my dad was collecting whole corn cobs from our field. I asked him why? He told me they were for Calvin, so that when he went hunting, he'd have an emergency field kit to take along. Dad and Calvin were always teasing each other. Calvin once told me he had known my dad for 40 years and he'd only had 2 pickups. He was right. When I ended farming to enter seminary, Calvin wished me the best of luck. Even commenting that when I officiated at weddings that I should not make the men miserable, and then he'd wink at me. I shall miss his kind manner. In sympathy, Fr. Charles Fladung
