Obituary for Adelaide E. Kilcher

Adelaide E. Kilcher, 83, of Alpha, Iowa died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at her home after losing her battle with cancer. A private memorial service is pending. Survivors include her husband Eldred Kilcher; two sons Donald (Marcia) Aspenson, of Littleton, CO, Greg (Marcia) Kilcher, of Alpha; three daughters Susan Gould, of Houston, TX, Debra (Everett) Gambrell, of Dallas, TX, and Jan (Kevin) Kleve, of Waucoma; one step daughter Kay (Tom) Frevert, of Taylorville, IL; and one sister Arlowayne (Lester) Brenno, of Auburn, CA. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and one son Dennis preceded her in death. Adelaide was born July 16, 1921 to Helmer and Alice (Albertson) Hovden in Ridgeway, Iowa. She married Eldred Kilcher on November 15, 1947 in Nashua, Iowa. She was an active member at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stapleton in rural Waucoma. She enjoyed dancing, walking, playing cards, and entertaining friends at their private pond. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends who she dearly loved. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
