Donald Wayne Oster, 82, 132 Main Street, Center Junction died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at his home following a long illness. Memorial Services are private. Survivors include his wife Yuba; a son, Michael Oster and wife Kathy of Chandler, AZ; a daughter, Peggy Riley and husband Jayme of Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Jess McLane of Center Junction, Tricia McLane of Harveyville, KS, Brandon Snyder, Tara Notz, and Timothy McLaughlin; great grandchildren, Ashlyn Webb and Draven Webb both of Harveyville, KS, Dyllan Capion and Peyton Capion of Center Junction; and two sisters, Doris Oster and Betty Oster both of Gladstone, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and four brothers. Donald was born March 7, 1922 in Caldwell County, Missouri the son of Stellar and Anna (Blynn) Oster. He married Yuba Rains on June 13, 1953 in Whiting. He was a correctional officer for the Iowa State Penitentiary for 23 years, retiring in 1987. Donald was a member of the Cascade American Legion and the Olin Masonic Lodge. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Donald was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. A memorial fund has been established. Arrangements are with the Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa.
