Ardeth "Bobbi" Phillips, 85, 402 S. Market St., Solon, died Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness. Memorial Service: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Solon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Scott Meeder. Survivors include two sons, Curt Phillips and wife Jewell of Solon and Cory Phillips and wife Linda of Masonville, CO; four grandchildren, Kelli, Nicholas, Ryan and Danielle; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 sisters, Joyce Robinson, Neva Gammon, Leolla Fisher, Doris Smith, Vera Almquiest, and Blanche Graham; and two brothers, Asael Spray and Burton Spray. Bobbi was born October 20, 1918 in Watkins, MN the daughter of Asael and Betsey (Olson) Spray. She was a bookkeeper for the school system in Hopkins, MN until her retirement in 1984. Bobbi was a member of the Solon United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and she loved playing Bridge. In the later years of her life she quilted, and made a countless number of homemade quilts with her friends. These quilts were sold to help pay for a stained glass window at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa.
