Bruce E. Bovey, of 500 Sycamore Street, a longtime resident of Waterloo formerly of Anchorage, Alaska died Friday, October 17, at his home from natural causes. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Bruce will be held Friday, Oct. 24, from 1 to 4 PM, at the home of Kim Foster, Fourth and Young, Jesup, Iowa. Bruce is survived by his three children, a son Brad Bovey and wife Theresa, a daughter Linda Snider both of Anchorage, Alaska and a son Mark Bovey and wife Heather of Colorado Springs, Colorado, three brothers, Glenn Bovey Jr of Tempe, Arizona, Donald Bovey of Waterloo and Gordon Bovey of Spokane, Washington, two sisters, Sue Buss of Mt. Pleasant and Kim Foster of Jesup, Iowa. Bruce had 9 grandchildren. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Walter Baker. Bruce was born October 17, 1940 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Glenn and Bernice (Klein) Bovey-Baker. He retired from Teamsters Local #959 in Anchorage, Alaska. Bruce enjoyed card games, sports and outdoor activities. In Bruce’s memory, friends may donate to the charity of their choice.
