Dorothy May Huston

Dorothy May Huston, 86, of 306 S Main St., in Protivin, IA, died Wednesday evening, November 12, at St Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, from complications of diabetes. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New Hampton, Iowa. Private internment at Oakland Cemetery in Manchester, IA at a later date. A reception will follow the memorial service at the Senior Citizen Center in New Hampton. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Robert L. Huston, of Protivin, daughter Shayla Landis Smith and husband Frank of Protivin, Iowa, son Bill Landis and wife Donna of Hiawatha, Iowa, daughter Tana Dolan and husband Terry of Springville, Iowa, daughter Tamara White and husband Roger of Gladbrook, Iowa, 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, sister Mildred Hansel, first husband Melvin Landis, and second husband Clarence Zeman. Dorothy was born May 23, 1917 in Manchester, IA the daughter of William and Mary Olive (Lewis) Frentress. She graduated from high school in Manchester in 1935. Dorothy married Robert L Huston on March 11, 1978 in Big Fork, Montana. She worked as a waitress for a number of years and had a variety of other jobs. She was a member of New Hampton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Dorothy and Robert traveled extensively in Montana, Arizona, and Washington State in their motor homes.
