Lawrence Lynch

Lawrence "Bill" Lynch Jr., 80, of 616 6th Avenue East, Oskaloosa, died July 6, 2003, at Mahaska County Hospital. He was born October 1, 1922 in Fremont, Iowa to Lawrence and Cora Lynch. He married Lois Atherton March 14, 1943 in Lancaster, Mo. He was a resident of Oskaloosa all of his life and was employed at Clow Corporation for 37 years. He served in the United States Army in the 7th infantry 3rd division during World War II and received two bronze stars and the purple heart. Surviving is his wife Lois, 5 children, Barbara and Dick Myers of Ottumwa, Iowa, John and Mary Lynch, Charles and Mary Lynch, both of Oskaloosa, Albert Lynch and partner Eddy Rangel of Plainfield, IL, Timothy Lynch of Pella, Iowa, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Rosie Bradley San Jose, California, Josephine and Ted Beaver of Knoxville, Iowa, 2 brothers, Jerry Lynch and Jean Lynch of Rock Island, IL. and Roger and Marsha of Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. His body has been cremated and graveside services will be held July 12, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Friends Cemetery at New Sharon, Ia. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Post 34 at the graveside. Following the service a reception will be held at the DAV building at Oskaloosa Fairgrounds. Memorials may be made to the Christian Opportunity Center of Pella, Ia.
