Doris Elizabeth LeMaster: 70, of 128 Bank Street, Keokuk, a longtime resident of Keokuk, died Sunday evening, July 13, at Keokuk Area Hospital from liver cancer. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 17 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Keokuk with Elder Ron Walsh of Canton, Missouri officiating. Doris is survived by her husband of 51 years, Norman LeMaster of Keokuk, a daughter Jonnie Sue Gillip and husband Greg of Wapello, IA, two sons, Kerry LeMaster and wife Peggy of Keokuk and James LeMaster and wife Pat of Marshalltown, Iowa, a brother Dean Seltzer and wife Sharon of Luray, Missouri, two sister-in-laws, Mary Ringstrom of Keokuk and Della Mae Hibbits of St. Petersburg, Florida, 8 grandchildren, Jacob Gillip and Jonathan Gillip of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Daniel Gillip, Samuel Gillip, Elizabeth Gillip and Rachel Gillip all of Wapello and Andrew LeMaster and Amy LeMaster both of Keokuk, 4 step-grandchildren, Jimmy Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Shannon Morrison and Nicole Kerr all of Marshalltown and 7 step great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents. Doris was born May 21, 1933 in Versailles, Illinois, the daughter of Robert J. and Carrie E. (Hall) Seltzer. She graduated from Keokuk Senior High School in 1951. She married Norman LeMaster on March 28, 1952 in Keokuk. She babysat from 1949 and owned and operated Kiddy Korral Day Care for 13 years until her retirement on March 28, 2003. Doris dearly loved children and cared for many of them in Keokuk and surrounding communities.
