Ronald Lee (Shipman) Hynick, 48, of Oskaloosa, Ia., died Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at his home following a long illness. Family will be handling services at a later date. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Harold Wells, Sr. of Sully, IA; Father Theodore (Ted) Hynick, of Oskaloosa; Fiancé Susan Plambeck of Oskaloosa, half brothers; Steve Hynick, of Oskaloosa, Dave Hynick of What Cheer and Tim Wells of Newton. Ronald was preceded in death by half brothers; Terry Wells of Sully, and David Wells of Sioux City, IA. Ronald was born March 2, 1955, in Albia, Ia. the son of Margaret Wells and Theodore Hynick. He loved to hunt, fish, travel and watch western movies. He was also interested in rockets, planes, astronomy and genealogy. “Ron touched so many people in so many different ways, it’s hard to express into words.” Ronald was a former employee of Excel Corp. of Ottumwa, Vermeer of Pella, Clow Valve of Oskaloosa, Stursma Insulation of Pella and Pella Meat Market. He was also a former member of Local Excel and Local 230. Ron served as a Marine in the Viet Nam War.
