Ronald W. Garceau, 90, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, in Oelwein. A memorial service will be planned later.
Ronald is survived by his children, Greg (Alice) Garceau, Richard Garceau, Dan (Cheryl) Garceau; grandchildren, Aaron, Edward, Tess, Olivia, Kaylyne, Tawny; and sister, Gail (Robert) Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ann Marie; and grandson, Sgt. Seth Garceau.
Ronald was born in Pontiac, Michigan to Walter and Ann Garceau. He graduated from John D. Pierce High School in Marquette, Michigan, and joined the U.S. Navy. He married Ann Marie Magnuson in 1957; she passed away in 2016.
Ronald’s career focused mainly in retail. He worked for J.C. Penny and later was the owner/manager of Garceau’s Skogmo Department Store in Oelwein. He was the President and CEO of Homecare Helping Hand, also in Oelwein. After retirement, Ronald spent much of his time and shared his talents volunteering. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Church for many years.
