Ronald Arthur Manchester
Ronald Arthur Manchester, 87, of Manchester, IA, passed away on July 2, 2025, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
Ronald was born October 17, 1937, to William Harold and Martha Opal (Crist) Manchester at the family farm near Arlington, IA. He graduated from Arlington High School and drove truck until proudly serving in the Army in Korea from 1960-1962. He then started his career of driving semi, hauling everything from fuel oil to modular homes. Ronald made many friends throughout his years of driving, and he would always have a good story or two to tell when he came home. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing, and in later years, he helped Maye with the assembly of many quilted projects.
He was united in marriage to Maye (Maas) at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA, on September 5, 1964. Together they lived in Edgewood, IA for many years before moving to Manchester.
His family includes his wife of 60 years, Maye; two daughters, Lisa (John Pauls) Manchester of Humboldt, IA, and Cheryl (James) Schroeder of Basco, IL; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Darlene Wiegert, Mary Ann Besler, and Beulah May Fuhrman; and two brothers, William (Louie) and Marlin Manchester.
Per Ronald's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.
