JoAnn Crowl, 73, of Redfield, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024 at Panora Specialty Care in Panora, Iowa.
JoAnn was born on September 23, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. Daughter of Joseph and Virginia (Bosley) Prewitt.
Mom grew up in Iowa and lived here all her life. Some of her favorite memories are from her childhood growing up along the Des Moines River, camping and fishing with her family. She attended Warren Harding Middle School until the 8th grade.
Mom loved everything outdoors, but mostly gardening, fishing, and camping. She also loved to can and preserve the vegetables from her garden. Mom’s greatest joy though was her family. Her children, grandchildren and also her great-grandchildren were what she was most proud of. Her eyes lit up whenever her family was around.
Mom is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clark Crowl, 2 daughters, Jamey Greene of Yale, Iowa, Wendy DeMers (Rowdy) of Roundup, Montana, and her son David (Marie) Saffeels of Madrid, Iowa, 17 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Jack (Karen) Prewitt and Larry (Charlotte) Prewitt. Mom also has several nieces and nephews that she adored as well as several friends. She is survived also by her best friend of 61 years, Diane, who she thought of as her sister.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Virginia Prewitt and Clark's parents Rosco and Dorothy Crowl.
Services will be Tuesday July 9th, 10:00 AM, at the Redfield Christian Church - 916 Grant Street, Redfield, Iowa.
