Cherilyn Faye Brookhart
Cherilyn Faye Brookhart went home to be with Jesus Wednesday April 24, 2024 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center.
Cherilyn was born in Williamstown, Missouri on December 23, 1946 to Earl & Mildred Fishback. In 1964 Cherilyn’s best friend introduced her to the love of her life Jerry and she knew after their first date that he was a keeper and married him on October 2, 1966. During their 57 years of wedded bliss they enjoyed traveling, gardening, bird watching, drinking coffee on their deck, watching every St. Louis Cardinals baseball game, loving all of their dogs & cats that they had, and of course spending time with her 3 children Jamie (Karen) Brookhart of Muscatine, Iowa, Shawna (Mark) Jones of Waterloo, Illinois, Jenna Lowe of Burlington, Iowa & 9 grand-children McKenna, Lucy, Grace, Parker, Lincoln, Gavin, Vaughn, Safia, & Mia. Along with immediate family she is survived by her sisters in law Esther Ann Fishback, Wyneta Fishback, Elaine Fishback & numerous nieces & nephews.
Cherilyn was also dedicated to special needs community thorough her years of dedicated service at Burlington Community School District & Hope Haven. She was also an active member of Parkside First Baptist Church. She always had ears to listen, arms to give a hug, words of wisdom to speak, a hand to hold and a heart that led her to pray.
Cherilyn is proceeded in death by her parents, Her 3 brothers, Earl Wayne Fishback, Kenneth Fishback, & Thomas “Bud” Fishback.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Parkside First Baptist Church, 300 Potter Drive, Burlington, IA on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM.
Memorials for St. Judes Children Hospital & PAW Animal Shelter in Ft. Madison, Iowa has been established
