Gerald Buseman

Gerald was such a proper gentleman and outstanding, soft-spoken neighbor. I used to 'wait' on him when he came to the bank and was always nice-looking, spruced up and made a very good impression. When walking past his home, he would always greet me with a smile and have nice things to say. I truly hope that his memory will not fade, as he was a genuine KIND person with perhaps more talents and interests than most people will ever know. Rest in peace with your Lord, Gerald.

We had the great privilege of being Gerald's neighbors for the past 24 years and we loved him as though he were family and and I know he loved us, too. My kids all grew up with Gerald next door always ready to color, build a little project, share one of his hand-held electronic games or just sit and visit! In fact, Jack and Gerald were best buddies - from the time Jack was 2-1/2 he would go "missing" from time to time and I would always know he had snuck out (usually during nap time) to go sit with his friend Gerald. I would walk over and there they would be, sitting together coloring or glueing together a fun little project or having a snack! Over the years we shared a lot of fun memories; birthday parties, Christmases, hot dog cookouts, and just sitting out on his patio visiting. The world needs more Gerald's - he never had a bad word to say about anyone, he had the patience of Job, and Gerald had the most giving heart & selfless soul of anyone I've ever met. Fourth Street will never be the same again without our Gerald. Rest in Peace, Gerald, we love you!

I am so sorry to hear of Gerald's passing. He and I were in the same graduating class at Parkersburg High School and I last saw him at our 60th class reunion in Parkersburg. My name had been Wilma Adelmund then. I later became Wilma Jean Conrads. I now go by Jeanie Conrads. I hope we will have another reunion but, unfortunately, not many members are still around. I always enjoyed talking with him. He will be missed by many friends. I hope he didn't suffer. I will always remember his smile.
