Ivan L. Christopherson, 74, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at his home in Cedar Rapids surrounded by loved ones.
Ivan was born July 4, 1942 to William and Cora Christopherson and grew up in the Highlandville area. He moved to Cedar Rapids in 1960 and was united in marriage to Sandra Novak on September 28, 1963, Ivan worked for Weyerhauser for 46 years. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #5677.
He is survived by his son Tim (Patti) Christopherson; two grandsons, Tye (Nola) Jones and Jacob Jones; 4 great-grandchildren all of Oklahoma City, OK; six sisters, Mary Sanderson of Luck, WI; Crystal Thayer of Sarasota FL; Thelma (Charlie) Brown of Sun City, AZ; Ruth (Jim) Wilson of Swisher, IA; Grace (Ken) Johnson of Las Vegas, NV; Arlene (Ron) Vavroch of Cape Coral. FL; many nieces, nephews, and girlfriend, Linda Petersen of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandra, six brothers Carmen, Jerome, Wallace, Robert, Raymond, and Frances Christopherson, and two sisters Esther Stevenson and Betty Hansel.
A Celebration of Life will be held for all family and friends on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus #5677, located at 810 Vernon Valley Drive, Cedar Rapids.
