Mary Ann Pierce

Mary Ann Pierce, 81, of Waterloo, passed away peacefully Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

Mary Ann was born September 25, 1933 in Black Hawk County, the daughter of William and Gladys Bedard Brustkern. She graduated from Waterloo Sacred Heart Catholic High School. 
 
She married Donald Pierce on April 14, 1953 in Waterloo. Mary Ann was a homemaker and also helped her husband with their business Pierce Used Cars. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.  
 
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don of Waterloo; daughters: Deborah SuZan of Madison, Wisc., Donnette (Tom) Sutton of Brandon, Deanna Bauler of Waterloo, Delia Pierce of Marion; son David (Karen) Pierce of Waterloo; daughter in-law Judy Pierce of Waterloo; 4 grandchildren: Josh Duggan, Nate Pierce, Courtney Hopkins and Braxton Pierce; 3 great-grandchildren: Taylor and Beckett Duggan and Grant Hopkins; a brother John Brustkern of Waterloo and a sister Chris Brustkern of Washburn.
 
Mary Ann was preceded in death by a son, Daniel; brothers: Cleo, Dick, Derwin, Joe and Bill Brustkern; and sisters: Donnie Fry, Miriam Rand and Patricia Frost. 
 
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering and luncheon 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 22, at the Waterloo Eagles Club, corner of East 1st & Sycamore Streets. 

Memorials may be directed to the family.
