Wayne Leroy Sawyer
Wayne Leroy Sawyer, 80, of Delhi Iowa passed away on Thursday, April 23rd 2026, at his home. He was born on August 26, 1945. He is the son of Gordon Roy Sawyer and Katherine (Boots) Whittemore. Wayne joined the United States Army and served honorably during the Vietnam War.
Following his military services, he worked at Rockwell Goss as a machinist while owners with his wife (Pat) Sawyer's Nursery and Landscaping for many years. Then finished his career at ATI in Delhi.
Wayne enjoyed helping his children with their home improvements, traveling many miles for their grandchildren's school events and making sure the "Christmas Tree" was lit each and every year.
He is survived by his wife, Pat (McAreavy) Sawyer; daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Lechtenberg from Omaha; son, Gordon (Teresa) Sawyer from Lawler and son, Wayne (Michele) Sawyer of West Union. Blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Wayne's Celebration of Life will be Saturday May 9th from 2-4pm at Delhi Methodist Church.
