Mr. Larry Padavich, of Ottumwa, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Larry Wayne Padavich was born to John Padavich and Virgene Iola (Davenport) Padavich on December 22, 1940 in Centerville, Iowa. He attended Centerville High School and Centerville Community College. On June 22, 1962, he married Anna Belle Moorman in Lancaster, MO. He was a tool and die maker at John Deere Ottumwa Works for 33 years, serving as UAW Local 74 safety representative for 25 years. He was a six-year veteran of the Iowa Army National Guard. He enjoyed woodworking, golf and gardening.
Larry is survived by his wife Anna; mother Virgene; sons Larry W. Padavich Jr. (Chris) and Mitchell R. Padavich (Veleta Jackson), both of Ottumwa; daughter Suzanne “Annie” Bonjour (Dale) of Ottumwa; six grandchildren: Justin DenHartog (Shelby), Matthew DenHartog, Zachary Padavich, Zane Padavich, Reid Padavich and Jagr Padavich, all of Ottumwa; brother James T. Huffman of Broken Arrow, OK; sisters Judy A. Albets of Broken Arrow, OK, Penny Allgood (Mark) of Centerville, Iowa, Patty Meeker (Mac) of Des Moines, and Judy Kauzlarich (Jerry) of Denver; great-grandson Barrett DenHartog and great-granddaughter Lennox DenHartog, both of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his father and infant son Patrick.
