Mr. Edwin “Gus” Slater, of Ankeny, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his home.
Edwin D Slater was born to Edwin Dow Slater and Myrtle Florence (Hollingsworth) Slater on November 12, 1952 in Des Moines. Edwin is survived by his son Chad of Adel, daughter Dayla Slater of DeSoto, and son Joseph Edwin Slater; sister Diane Slater of Des Moines; granddaughter Megan Braxton of DeSoto and grandson Seth Fudge of DeSoto; and great-granddaughter Hailey Kay Ovvineo of DeSoto. He was preceded in death by his parents; niece Mindy Jo Flanagan-Newell; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
