David Whitters
David Mark Whitters, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, February 01, 2017 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Viking Lounge & Restaurant in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 1-3 pm.
David was born October 18, 1952, the son of Robert and Mildred Jean (Ehda) Whitters in Cedar Rapids. He worked for Evergreen Packaging for forty plus years as a Senior Design Technician. David greatly enjoyed the outdoors. Some of his hobbies included fishing and collecting rocks. He was an avid writer who still loved to send letters to family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Andrew (Jenny) Whitters; two grandsons, Colin and Lucas Whitters; brother, Martin Whitters; two sisters, Nancy Jones and Carole Whitters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Veronica “Jeanne” Slickly.
Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of David.
