Elizabeth Knoth
Elizabeth Bernadina Knoth (Sliphorst) danced her way into heaven on February 17, 2018 at home surrounded by family. She is survived by her children: Carol Lacy of Wilmington, Ohio, Rick Knoth (Luanne) of Lake Orion, Michigan, Greg Knoth (Donna Paull) of Dayton, Ohio, and Cindy Walls (J.D.) of Bettendorf, Iowa. Additionally, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren had the joy of Elizabeth in their lives.
Elizabeth was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 5, 1924 to Hendrik and Elizabeth Sliphorst. At age 8, she moved to Amsterdam, Holland and created childhood memories alongside her brother Henry and cousin Jopi Meesterman. Elizabeth moved with her family to Dayton, Ohio in 1947 but left a small piece of her heart in Amsterdam. She was lucky enough to return to Amsterdam several times to celebrate her Dutch heritage. Throughout her life, Elizabeth enjoyed dancing, traveling around the world, playing cards and Bingo, and most importantly, laughing while making memories with her family.
Per Elizabeth’s request, no services will be held. Please celebrate her life with a drink of your choice and a toast in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elizabeth’s name to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust in Cold Spring, Kentucky or the Genesis Health Services Foundation in Davenport, Iowa.
