Myrtle Irene Pickell

Myrtle Pickell, of Madrid, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Madrid Home. Memorial services will be held at the chapel at the Madrid Home on Saturday, October 7th at 2:00 PM. 

Myrtle Irene Bryan was born to Hatch Bryan and Minnie Lee (Fountain) Bryan on August 30, 1923 in Back Swamp, North Carolina. On July 12, 1942, Myrtle married Jack Wayne Pickell in Dillon, South Carolina. She was a member of the Madrid Church of Christ. 

Myrtle is survived by her daughter Frances (Darwin) Daulton of Las Cruces, New Mexico, daughter Marlene Hughes of Iowa City and son Johnnie (Dee Ann) Pickell of Madrid; grandchildren Colleen Davis of Texas, Kent Daulton of Texas, Jack Hughes of Dexter, Iowa, Brian Hughes of Long Grove, Iowa, Kara Courtney of Bettendorf, Iowa and Mandy Kay Obraza of Bondurant, Iowa; step-grandchildren Heather Ochoa of Des Moines, Kristie Sullivan of Des Moines and Jake Mann of Pleasantville, Iowa, and brother Durwood Bryan of Jacksonville, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 1996, her parents, and several brothers and sisters.
