Russel Prichard

Russel E. Prichard, 74, of Dysart, IA, passed away October 1, 2017 at Covenant Hospital, Waterloo from pneumonia and complications of MDS.

Russ was born on July 4th, 1943 in Belle Plaine, IA to Adelbert and Arilla (Wilson) Prichard.  He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1961.  He married Sandra A. Roudabush on May 16, 1964 in Belle Plaine.  He was a 1971 graduate of Iowa State University majoring in Fish and Wildlife Biology.

Russ retired in 2003 after 27 years with Black Hawk Co. Conservation/Engineer Dept., which he was a park officer for 11 years at Hickory Hills Park and then a roadside biologist.

Russ enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, plus other sporting events on television.

Russ is survived by his wife, Sandy; two sons, Chris (Dawn) of Bellevue, IA and Chad (Kim) of Keokuk, IA; six grandchildren; Christopher, Cole, Demi, Destinee, Dylan, Payton and step-grandchild Cody Usa, three great-grandchildren, Valerii & Brayden Vinson and Octavia Prichard; sister, Shirley Shogren; brothers,  Ron (Ardis) and Don (Reda); brother-in-laws, Lawrence and Dean(Teresa) Roudabush and sister-in-law, Jacquie Bachelder.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouses' parents, Sam/Florence Roudabush, brother-in-laws Dave Wiese, Carl Shogren and sister-in-law, Sheryl Roudabush.

Burial at Beal's Cemetery, Belle Plaine at a later date.
