Joan L. Haberbeck ("Jo"), 83, of Indianola, died on June 5, 2017, at her daughter’s home, with her family by her side.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 11:00 to 1:00 at Scotch Ridge Presbyterian Church, 13013 Scotch Ridge Rd, Carlisle, IA 50047.

Survivors include her daughters, Leslie A. (George) Ruble of Murrieta, CA, and Lisa R. (David) Youngblut of Indianola; grandchildren, Kellie (Ben) Somero, Beth (Paul) Brycki, Geoff (Julie) Ruble, Nicole (Greg) Antill, Jocelyn (Brian) Klotz, and Haley Youngblut; 13 great grand children; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; nephew, great nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis.

Jo was born on November 9, 1933, the beloved daughter of William D. and Dorothy E. (Driesbach) Stewart.  She was united in marriage to Louis H Haberbeck, Jr. on November 8, 1948.  Jo was an enthusiastic and motivational leader with impeccable communication skills.  She organized not-for-profit fundraisers; taught computer/clerical skills to dislocated workers and the economically disadvantaged; and dedicated her spare time as a Girl Scout Leader, Girl Scout Cookie Chairperson,  Weight Watcher Counselor, and member of the Naperville Community Cancer Advisory Board. Jo loved scrapbooking, yoga, and traveling, but her greatest joy was her time spent with friends and family.  Jo will forever be remembered for her welcoming and caring nature towards all.

Memorial donations in Jo’s honor may be directed to Mercy Hospice, Susan G Komen, or Friends of Warren County Conservation.
