Urns

Most families desire some form of permanent container to embrace the cremated body of their loved one. Some individuals choose to place the cremated body of their loved one in a decorative and personal urn that commemorates the life lived.

Urn Vaults

State or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the urn in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements.

Keepsakes

Family members or special friends often want to memorialize their loved ones by retaining a small portion of the cremated body. A variety of small keepsake urns and pendants are available for this purpose. Keepsake urns are manufactured from the same materials as regular urns and are often available as a matching set to the permanent urns selected. Keepsake pendants are crafted by jewelers as tokens to be worn. They are generally made out of gold, silver, brass, or pewter.

Memorial Service Planner

The Cremation Society of Eastern - Central - Western Iowa ’s newest offering to its members is the Memorial Service Planner. As the name implies, The Memorial Service Planner is a tool to help member families' design and implement their own memorial service. In the Planner, members will find samples of service folders and choices of cover designs, verses, and song selections. There are tips for writing a eulogy and personalizing a memorial service to make it unique and meaningful. We’ve also included several optional value-added services that members may choose. The price of the Planner includes 100 service folders, 50 thank-you notes, a Memorial Register book, and memorial donation envelopes. In addition, we offer the guidance and support of our staff through telephone and e-mail consultation.

“There is a distinctive need for this service,” says Regina Lind, Executive Director of the Cremation Society. “We’ve had many requests for something of this nature and I believe our members will find it extremely helpful.” The most compelling reason our members give for joining the Society is simplicity. The Memorial Service Planner is one more way for the Society to provide for its members and stay true to our mission – to make cremation a simple, dignified, and affordable choice for those who put their trust in us.

Garden and Cemetery Memorials

Garden and cemetery memorials provide a unique method of remembering a loved one. The Sundial and Fountain are suitable for placement in a cherished courtyard or garden, whether at home or a church, or other special place. The memorial benches may be placed in a variety of places, such as a garden, cemetery, even near a tee box on a favorite golf course. These memorials provide a meaningful alternative to burial or scattering of cremated remains and provide a lasting tribute to a life well lived.
