Gerald "Jerry" Lemburg

Gerald (Jerry) Louis Lemburg, 77, passed away on May 18th, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family at his home, in Blue Grass, IA. He was born on June 1, 1939 in Davenport, IA to Joseph Harold Lemburg and Genevieve Margaret (Hover) Zapletal.

 A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday May 21st at Lady Di’s Park View Inn, 18109 270th Street, Eldridge, IA from 12 – 3 pm.  The family would like to thank the outpouring of support from all those that stopped by his home or called during this difficult time. 

 Jerry graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, IA. Jerry was a Mechanic for Shoeing/Dittmer Shell for approx. 20 years and then went on to work for IA IL Gas & Electric retiring in 1995.  He then worked for General Diesel and then Marten Sod.

 Jerry married Judith Ann Loihl in 1957 in Davenport, IA; and then Kimbra Joan Miller in 1987; and then married Joan Elaine (Hood) Henderson in 1999. He was happily married to Joan for 18 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and filled his later years watching most any sport.  He was most proud of the home he built in a beautiful park like setting.

 Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Lemburg & Genevieve Zapletal; Step Parents Malonie Lemburg & Frank Zapletal; sister, Ruth Ann Cole; brother Thomas Lemburg; and infant son Mark.

 Those left to honor his memory include his wife Joan; children Chris of Baytown, TX; Dawn (Randy) Latham of Blue Grass; Matthew (Brenda) of Le Claire; Eileen Clifton, Indianapolis, IN;  Karen (Dave) Soldat, Shelbyville, KY; John (Kim) Le Claire; Creighton (fiancé Lindsie Pettie) of Virginia Beach, VA; Stepsons Bret (Shelly) Henderson of Orion, IL; Kevin Henderson of Bettendorf; & Brian (Lea) Henderson of Kewanee; 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
