Judith Anne Scholljegerdes, 78, of St. Francis, Minnesota, formerly of Stacyville, Iowa, died peacefully Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at her residence under the care of hospice.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, East Bethel, Minnesota immediately followed by a reception in Judy’s honor.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Private family inurnment will take place at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Judy was born February 2, 1938 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Karl Harrison and Helen Catherine (Moore) Underwood.  She graduated from Burlington High School with the class of 1956, and attended Burlington Junior College.  On August 5, 1978, Judy was united in marriage to Marlin Scholljegerdes in Mason City, Iowa.

Judy was passionate about life and it showed in everything she did.  Her passion for people began when she volunteered at the age of 16 as a candy striper with the Red Cross.  She was active in girl scouts in her youth and as an adult and volunteered throughout her life at church.  She also loved American history and was an active member of the DAR and volunteered as a docent at Glensheen Mansion in Duluth, Minnesota.  

Judy with her husband, Marlin, owned and operated the Olcott House Bed & Breakfast in Duluth, Minnesota from 1988 until 1994.  This home and business was her pride and joy by sharing her gift of hospitality and restoring a historic home to its glory days.  

Judy also partnered with Marlin to share her passion for nutrition and living a life in harmony with nature with a successful Shaklee business spanning 40 years.

Judy was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in East Bethel, Minnesota, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Anoka, Minnesota Chapter; the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Osage, Iowa, and the Daughters of Liberty of Duluth, Minnesota.  

She was also a member of the Trust for Historic Restoration and Preservation, and the International Order of St. Luke the Physician, Duluth, Minnesota Chapter.  She enjoyed playing the piano and participating in the church choir.  She was passionate about historic preservation, sewing, and traveling with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Marlin; children: Wayne Gustison of Ivor, Virginia; Brenda Standke of Aurora, Colorado; and Craig Scholljegerdes of Prosper, Texas; and five grandchildren: Tawney Gustison, Stephanie, Daniel, and Megan Standke, and Gavin Scholljegerdes.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents.
