John Grother, of Seymour, IA, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at 11:00 AM at the Ding Darling shelter in Birdland Park, located at 2100 Saylor Road in Des Moines.
John Wilbur Grother was born to Loren Joseph Grother and Mayme Gloria (Houghton) Grother on July 21, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa. On July 14, 1962, John married Margie May Grother in Colfax, Iowa.
John is survived by his wife Margie of Seymour; sons John Wilbur Grother Jr. of Des Moines, James William Grother of Marion, IA, Jeffrey Wade Grother of Seymour; daughter Gloria May Norris of Des Moines; brothers Joseph Grother and Michael Grother of Des Moines; fourteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Loren Leroy Grother.
