Mary A. Cook (Foote), 73, of Stratford, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Paula J Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 1 pm at the McGuire Bend UB church. A luncheon will follow at Athens Woods Estates in Stratford.
Mary Agnus Cook was born November 16, 1943 to Lawrence and Francis Foote. She graduated from Calendar High School in 1961 and then from Bernel Hairstyling School in 1962. She married Jackson Cook on September 29, 1962. They raised their family in Duncombe where she operated Mary’s Beauty Shop. She later retired from Electrolux in 2010.
Mary was an avid reader, loved to work on crafts and to go camping. Her favorite destination was Dolliver Memorial State Park, where she shared her love of nature and hiking with her children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband Jackson; their four children, Janelle (Brad) of Bloomer, WI; Kendra (Steve) of Duncombe; Archie (Kari) of Webster City; and Andrew of Austin, TX; eleven grandchildren, Morgan, Rachel, Seth, Stephan, Zackary, Jacob, Alex, Abby, Jackson, Dakota and Avery; her siblings, Larry (Kathy) Foote, Al (Jo) Foote, Memory (John) Iles, and Robin (Sharron) Foote. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Merle and Jerry Foote.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to the Paula J Baber Hospice Home.
